brush + ink
traditional ink brush painting studies, on skin.
a limited capsule of fineline floral and botanical pieces, studying traditional Japanese & Chinese ink brush paintings.
工笔 (gongbi) is a meticulous fine-line tradition. each petal, each leaf, each feather is rendered with deliberate intention, layered slowly, with reverence for the subject.
traditionally, this work has been painted on silk, or rice paper. skin, it turns out, is also a suitable canvas for another type of ink.
each piece will only be tattooed once.
